Ellen V. Jorgenson, 92, of Richland Center died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Schmitt Woodland Hills. She was born on November 29, 1925, at home on Dayton Ridge, the daughter of Charles Mason and Zula Iona (Nevel) McKinney. Ellen worked for the University of Wisconsin Madison until her retirement.

She enjoyed cooking; baking especially molasses cookies; listening to music; playing cards, games, bingo, Yahtzee with her son Rocky; reading; word search; and watching game shows and soap operas. Ellen… Read More » is survived by five children: Geneva (Jerry) Schwichtenberg of Richland Center, Roscoe Markin of Richland Center, Cheryl Gilbert of Mississippi, Joyce Schwichtenberg of Mazomanie, Mary Richardson of Lodi; 21 Grandchildren; 39 Great-grandchildren; 11 Great-great-grandchildren; special ‘sister’ Jean McKinney of Mount Horeb; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Charles Mason and Zula Iona, husbands Roscoe Markin and Harold Jorgenson, grandson Christopher Schwichtenberg, son-in-law Carl Schwichtenberg, and brothers Glenn, Grover, Emery, Marvin, Mason III, McKinney, sister Betty McKinney.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 11:00 the Pratt Memorial Chapel with Pastor Laurel Matson with burial to follow in the Dayton Corners Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
