Eugene Donald Smola, Jr., age 61, of Wonder Lake, passed away on June 1, 2018 at his home. He was born July 25, 1956 to Eugene D. and Victoria (Pedretti) Sr. in Chicago. By trade, Eugene was a skilled carpet installer.

In addition to swimming, he enjoyed drawing in his free time, as he was quite the talented artist. Eugene will be remembered as a man who always had a smile on his face. He possessed a great sense of humor and a big heart.

In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his brother, Steve. A Celebration of Life in honor of Eugene will be held at a family member’s home.
