Col. Edward W. Luby USAF, Ret. , age 92, of Round Lake, entered eternal rest on September 5, 2018 at his home.

He was born on October 11, 1925 to Edward H. and Rose Marie (Hertel) Luby in Round Lake. On June 18, 1950, he was united in marriage to Hilda Harris in Arizona. Col.

Luby was a true patriot and devoted his life to serving his country. Luby was a 3rd Degree Knight and past Grand Night of the Our Lady of the Rosary Council #8214 of St. Joseph Catholic Parish as well as a 4th Degree Knight of Bishop Quarter Assembly 0197 and held the office of the Faithful Navigator. He was known for his gentle soul of integrity. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his sons, Edward W. Luby, Jr. and Joseph H. Luby; his grandchildren, Natasha (Brian) North and Joshua (Susan) Luby; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Col. Luby was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Luby, on September 24, 2016 and by his sisters, Marie Molidor and Helen Thumboe.

Friends and neighbors may gather on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Justen Round Lake Funeral Home. 222 N. Rosedale Ct. , Round Lake, IL 60073.

Visitation will resume the following morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the funeral home, after which we will leave in procession to the 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 114 Lincoln Ave, Round Lake, IL 60073.
