Gary Reginald Walker passed away on May 17, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at First Red Oak, 320 E. Ovilla Road, Red Oak, Texas, with Pastor Jared Douglas officiating. Gary was born on September 28, 1946 to Thomas R. and Tannis Walker in New Town, Connecticut.

Gary grew up and attended school in Sandy Hook, Connecticut. While living in Sandy Hook, Gary was a volunteer fireman with the fire department for many years. He was also the youngest member of the gun club.

Gary’s passion in life was cars. Race cars, hot rods, NASCAR, he loved them all. He was extremely skilled mechanically and could build or fix anything on a car.

Gary taught automotive classes for high schoolers and found a special calling to help teenagers. He took them under his wings and guided them any way he could. Gary was also an avid hockey fan after his move to the DFW area he became a fan of the Dallas Stars.

He was a strong presence in his family and will be missed. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Tannis Walker and his brother, Donald Walker. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda D. Walker; daughters, Tannis Lambert and her husband Greg, and Kelly Lampitt and her husband, Tom; grandchildren, Jasmine and her husband, Jared, Tanner, Marjorie, Angela and Ryan; brother, Ross Walker and many friends.
