Genevieve Dorton Blevins October 23, 1929 – December 18, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Church Hill, TN – Genevieve Dorton Blevins, 89 Genevieve Dorton Blevins, age 89 of Church Hill, TN passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Fort Blackmore, VA on October 23, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Claude W and Verna Owens Dorton. In addition to her parents She was also preceded in death by her husband of 15 years, Zenith Blevins; a sister, Elva Dorton; brothers, Buford and Sherill Dorton.

She was member of Greenvale Baptist Church and enjoyed bird watching and was an avid gardener. Her greatest joy was being with family. Genevieve had retired from Eastman Chemical Co with over 30 years of service.

She is survived by her, 2 sisters, Marcella Buzzo and Kathy Reed (Ronnie); 2 brothers, JM Dorton (Eula) and Jerry Dorton (Nancy); several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also a great nephew who was like a grandson, Tyler Tiller. The family will receive friends Friday, December 21, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, VA. and anytime at the home of Ronnie and Kathy Reed.

A Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 22, at 11AM in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Robert Fletcher, Pastor Joe Shelton and Evangelist Robbie Dockery officiating with New Grace Trio providing the music. A graveside service will follow in the Pierson Cemetery, Fort Blackmore, VA. Pallbearers will be Tyler Tiller, Austin Castle, Devon Trent, Ronnie Dorton Matthew Reed and Scott Smith.

Honorary pallbearers are Tony Buzzo, Ronnie Reed and Chuck Shaffbower. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Kristie Castle, Tyler Tiller, Cori Baker, Whitney Hale and Amedysis Hospice, particularly Ashley Skeens for all their love and care.
