Family will receive friends on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in Hartshorne with Rev.

Kenny Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Bache-Red Oak Cemetery. Jerry Meeks was born on November 6, 1954 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Fred and Cherokee (Tayler) Meeks.

He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He married Twana Jo Davidson on January 3, 1977 in Pittsburg, Oklahoma. He worked as a Guard at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary and lived in the Dow area for 35 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Survivors include his daughter, Heather Brillo of McAlester, son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Amy Meeks of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Carys Brillo, Kyan Brillo, Kaeson Brillo, Jack Meeks and Emily Jo Meeks; brothers, Dale Meeks of Muskogee, OK, Bob Meeks of McAlester, OK, Joe Meeks of Stilwell, OK, Glen Meeks of Stilwell, OK and Harold Meeks of Stilwell, OK; sister, Glenda Ledbetter of Ardmore, OK. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Twana Jo; parents, Fred and Cherokee Meeks; brothers, Jim Meeks, Mike Meeks; brothers-in-law, Ernie Davidson, Ronnie Davidson and a nephew, Lucas Meeks.

Active pallbearers will be Joe Meeks, Mike Meeks, Jack Meeks, Carrie Hughes, Kevin Connor and Michael Meeks. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers, sister and Gary Dove.
