Harvey Tilden Powers December 07, 1940 – January 01, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Harvey Tilden Powers, 78, of Lost River, WV passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of January 1, 2019. Born December 7, 1940 in Bee, Dickenson Co., Virginia, he was the son of the late Willie Trinkle Powers and Hazel Ann Horton Powers. Mr. Powers served in the United States Army.

His m/o was Lineman/Artillary, working with the 155 Howitzer. He was stationed at Ft. Jackson, SC; Ft.

Bragg, NC and Korea. He was a retired Maintenance Engineer, Plumber, Locksmith and Jack of all trades. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking, at which he was very talented.

He was a member of the 176 American Legion. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Auty W. Powers and Harlis E. Powers; two sisters, Elizabeth R. Mutter and Mildred A. Powers and a great-grandson, Xander K. Jan. Surviving are his daughters, Pamela J. Powers-Funkhouser and husband, Mark of Lost River, WV; Angela A. Powers-Reid and husband, Joe of Baker, WV; his son, Harvey Tilden Powers, Jr. and fiancé, Susan of Sterling, VA; brothers: James C. Powers and wife, Maggie of Florida, Donald J. Powers and wife Katie of Kilmarnock, VA; 7 grandchildren: Matthew W. Newberger and wife Kaitlin, Jessica A. Newberger and fiancé Scotty, Kenneth R. Garland, Tiffanie M. Harpring and husband, Phillip, Hayley L. Jan and husband, Sikander, Angel E. and Ashley N. Castell; 11 great-grandchildren, Cooper and Kenly Newberger, Dominic and Darren Campbell, Elijah, Lorelai and Logan Bowman, Dax and River Harpring, Declan Jan and Peyton Riggleman; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mr. Powers will be cremated. The family wishes to mourn their loss in private. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Baker, WV.
