Hazel Kyker Myers Shipley, 96, of Westminster passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Lorien, Taneytown. Born August 20, 1921, in Johnson City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Dana Kyker, Sr. and Grace Brown Kyker. Hazel was employed by Kessler Shoes as a shoe cutter for 20 years.

She was a member of the Church of the Open Door. She also participated as an active member of the Church’s Super Sixties singing group. She loved reading and the Super Sixties activities.

She also leaves her 5 grandchildren; Pamela Berchock, Stephanie Shriver, Shelly Boblits, Nadine Doyle and Bradley Myers; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; six nieces and two nephews. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her first and second husband, Oscar Myers and Ralph Shipley.

She was also predeceased by her son, Lenny Myers, her grandson Buster Shipley, great-grandson Timmy Berchock, brother Dana Kyker, Jr., and sister Anna Mae Jones, and son-in-law Arthur Shipley. Her family will welcome friends on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel from 4 to 7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Open Door, where an additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. John Campbell and Rev.
