Helen was born April 28, 1941 in West Branch, MI to the late Louis and Helen (David) Migan. She married Joseph Pape on August 25, 1962 in Prescott, MI.

Helen retired from Caro Community Schools in 1997 after 25 years of teaching science. She has been a member of Mayville United Methodist Church since 1971 where she was a Sunday School teacher. Helen was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Group, the United Methodist Mission Team, the Loose Threads Quilt Club and the Flow Blue International Collectors Club.

She loved quilting, gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with her family. Helen is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph; two children, David (Jill) Pape and Jennifer Bailey; six grandchildren, Jonathan (Alanna) Pape, Amy (Andrew) Kaschalk, Kelli Pape, Landon Bailey, Dalton Bailey and Lyndee Bailey; four great-grandchildren, Liliana Pape, David Pape, James Pape and Emmett Kaschalk; one sister, Louise Bohrer; and special family friend, David Preston. She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew in 1983 and one sister, Grace Gascoyne in 1989.

The Family will receive visitors from 2-8 PM Friday, December 14, 2018 at Avram Funeral Home and from 10 AM until the time of service Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Mayville United Methodist Church. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Mayville United Methodist Church, 601 E. Ohmer Rd. , Mayville, MI 48744 with Pastor Carole Brown officiating.
