Inez Guthrie Scearce, 97, of Danville, Va. , passed away Monday, November 5, 2018, at Martinsville Health & Rehab. She was born July 27, 1921, in Halifax County, Va.

, to the late Carrie Saunders Guthrie and the late Jesse Guthrie. She was married on November 28, 1946, to Robert J. Scearce, who survives. Mrs. Scearce was a homemaker and the last of her generation.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scearce was predeceased by her sisters, Nola Self, Sterling Donald, Edna Barksdale, and Alma Meggison; her brothers, Grover Guthrie, Frank Guthrie, and Robert Guthrie, as well as one grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, with Rev.

Ryan Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov.
