James “Dink” Nathaniel Evatt, 77, husband of Ruth McGee Evatt, of 1022 Evatt Road, Seneca, passed away, Monday, January 28, 2019, at GHS Cottingham Hospice House. A native of Seneca, SC, Mr. Evatt was the son of the late J.B. Evatt and Gert Smith Evatt. He retired from Duke Energy.

Mr. Evatt was a member of Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge #92 and New Hope Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Evatt is survived by his daughter: Anita Evatt Dost (Paul) of Seneca, SC; sisters: Hilda Weiler (Dennis) of Cumming, GA, Sharon Lee (Wayne) of Seneca, SC and Shelia Bagwell (Mark) of Seneca, SC; grandchildren: Molly Quinn (J.R.), SSG. Andrew Evatt, Lauren Klein (Christopher), Lana Burdette and Eric Dost; and great-grandchildren: Maddy, Zachary, Brody, Jackson, Mason, Avery and Natalie.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Evatt was preceded in death by his son: Michael Anthony Evatt; and daughter-in-law: Kelly Evatt. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at New Hope Baptist Church with burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM, Wednesday, prior to the service, at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to, Oconee Hospice of the Foothills, GHS Cottingham Hospice House, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672 or to New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 8212, Seneca, SC 29678. The family is at the home of Mark and Shelia Bagwell, 616 Lighthouse Court, Seneca, SC 29672.
