James Scott Witherow II, born April 22, 1942 in Martinsville, VA peacefully made his transition from life July 3, 2018 in Sugar Mountain, NC. He was a United States Air Force Veteran assigned to the 95th Fighter Squadron. He retired as Criminal Investigator from the Martinsville City Police Department.

He was an animal lover who enjoyed horseback riding, Jeep Jamborees, woodworking, gardening, and road trips with his family. He loved attending baseball games, especially seeing… Read More » his beloved Philadelphia Phillies. He was a big NASCAR fan and enjoyed building model stock car replicas.

Above all, his favorite thing to do was make people laugh. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Doris Witherow. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Joe Mallard, brother and sister-in-law Mike and Peggy Witherow, his daughter and son-in-law, Deb Casaccia Witherow and Brian Ludwig, daughter and grandson Michelle Witherow and Kingston Morris, son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Kaicey Witherow, and a very special constant companion, his grand-dog Tabitha.

His celebration of life will take place at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel on Friday July 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.

Friends and family will be received at 901 Highland Ridge Martinsville, VA following internment. In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to The Ronald McDonald House of Roanoke, VA. Norris Funeral Services Inc. and Crematory of Martinsville, VA is serving the Witherow family.
