Jay M. Potts, 73, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018, in his home. He was born on August 20, 1945, in Springfield, the son of the late James M. and Bessie (Balsinger) Potts. Jay worked for Cascade Corporation for 46 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jay is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 54 years, Betty (Hallam) Potts, two children: Lisa (Jeff) Finney, JJ (Jennifer) Potts; grandchildren: Mandi (Martin) Haynes, Frank (Amber)… Read More » Finney, Jessica Potts, Marybeth Coder, Maggie Potts and Brooke Potts; great grandchildren: Ryan, Kanden, Heaven’Ly, Kinnedy, Keigan, Kobe and Leigha; his dog “Sara” and best buddie, Chuck West, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patty White.

A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the VFW Post 3660, 2741 Columbus Ave. , Springfield. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent through www.
