Jay T. Edward Griffith, age 75, of Cedar Bluff, VA, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at his home. Jay was born in Richlands, VA and was the son of the late Jay and Mary Lester Griffith. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a retired miner.

He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis White Griffith; sister, Virginia Baldwin; and a brother, Joe Griffith.

He is survived by: Daughter, Toni Campbell and husband, Robert of Nickelsville, VA Son, Eddie Griffith and wife, Cindy of Pounding Mill, VA Sisters: Pansy Gilbert of Richlands, VA Sarah Williams of Richlands, VA Jackie Compton Tammy Christian and husband, Roy of Richlands, VA Brother, Roger Griffith of Richlands, VA Grandchildren: Seth Street, Chance Griffith, Kara Griffith and Jaycee Griffith Great Grandchildren: Hunter Street, Connor Griffith Keen A host of family and friends also survive. Funeral services for Jay T. Edward Griffith will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Claudie Throgmartin officiating.

Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Robert Campbell, Seth Street, Chance Griffith, Kevin Meadows, Audi Spangler, Lewis Peak, Kelly Williams, and Kenneth Street. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 pm on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
