James Robert “Bobby” McGlothlin, age 84, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia. Bobby was born in Richlands, VA and was the son of the late Edward George and Hallie Hooker McGlothlin. He was a Richlands High School Class of 1953 graduate and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He was a mechanic for Eastern Isles. Bobby was a member of the Cedar Bluff Community Church and was a lifelong resident of the area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Angela Fouch McKinney, three sisters; and four brothers.

He is survived by: His Wife, Geraldine Miller McGlothlin Special nephews of the heart, whom he helped raise: Eugene Childers and wife, Mary of Paintlick, VA; and their son, Hunter Childers Derek Childers of Richlands, VA Special nieces and nephews, Frankie Fox, Betty Carr, Joe McGlothlin, Jim McGlothlin and Johnny McGlothlin Step great grandson, Liam Mitchem Two special step grandsons, Aaron Bullion and Ronnie Mitchem Step son-in-law, Mark McKinney Funeral services for James Robert “Bobby” McGlothlin will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, VA.

Pallbearers will be Mike Scherr, Benny Stiltner, Larry McGinnis, Darrell Meade, Robert Stiltner, Johnny Lester. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Javed, Rev. Bob Smith, Men of the Cedar Bluff Community Church.

Members of the Casey-Shott VFW Post #9640 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Cedar Bluff Community Church; P. O. Box 196; Cedar Bluff, VA 24609.
