William Albert Messick, age 80, of Sevierville, Tennessee, formerly of Claypool Hill, VA, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at his son’s home in Tennessee. William was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of the late Edward and Rosie Absher Messick. He was a retired coal miner and was a lifelong resident of the Claypool Hill area.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Martin Messick. He is survived by: His Son, Marty Messick and wife, Elizabeth “Liz” of Sevierville, TN Grandchildren: Joseph Teague, Roxanne Messick, Victoria Messick and Jacob Messick Brother, Glen Messick and wife, Doris of Covington, GA Several family and friends also survive. Funeral services for William Albert Messick will be conducted at 12:30 pm on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev.

Charlie Absher officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be Darrell Meade, C.B. Compton, Andy Simmons, J.W. Martin and Kelly Williams.
