Norma Jean Boyd, age 77 of Tazewell, VA died Saturday, February 23, 2019 at CaroMont Healthcare in Gastonia, NC. She was born July 13, 1941 at Richlands, VA and was the daughter of the late Alec and Gussie Hagy Boyd. Norma was a retired Medical Technician having worked for several years in Home Health Services.

She enjoyed the Native American culture and its music. Norma was passionate about her cats, especially her favorite fur baby and companion, Heidi. Ms. Boyd also enjoyed reading.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles Eugene Boyd; six brothers, Charles Boyd, Noah Boyd, Eugene Boyd, Ralph Boyd, Lawrence Boyd and John Boyd. Those who survive to cherish her memory include three children, Tracy Boyd Camby and husband, David of Williamsburg, VA, Bryan “Poppy” Boyd and wife, Jennifer of Tazewell, VA and Tonya Eileen Boyd and fiancé, Michael Beightol of Gastonia, NC; one brother, Danny Boyd and wife, Brenda of Elkton, KY; three grandchildren, Dakota Camby, Bryan Keith Boyd, II and fiancée, April and Alexus Monet Boyd; one great-granddaughter, Mackenzi Skylar Boyd; a host of nieces; nephews; other family members and friends also survive.

The family will receive friends at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Tazewell, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2019, where a funeral service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Brian Boyd of Chesapeake, VA officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, VA. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Those who wish to accompany the family to the cemetery in procession are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019.
