Roland A. Tackett, age 91, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 17, 2019. He was born in Yeager, Kentucky and was the son of the late George and Lesta Jane Blackburn Tackett. He was an entrepreneur in real estate and a lifelong resident of the area.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Joyce Tackett; grandsons, Bryan Elswick and George Tackett. He is survived by those who dearly loved him, his: Daughters: Peggy Gillespie and husband, David of Lebanon, VA Sandy Vance of Richlands, VA Debbie Elswick of Bowling Green, KY Rachel Branham of Pikeville, KY Son: Doug Tackett and wife Linda of Abingdon, VA Sisters: Jane McKee and husband Paul of Pikeville, KY Georgia Webb of Pikeville, KY Brother: Lawrence Tackett of Butler, KY Ex-wife, Thelma Tackett Grandchildren: William Vance; Jeremy Vance; Layne Gillespie; Brooke Shrum and husband, Jordan; Kristin Adams and husband, Mike; Jerrod Tackett and wife, Jessica; Kari Elswick; and Richard Thacker. Great-grandchildren: Victoria Favaro and husband Anthony; Lauren Dunnavant and husband, Michael; Sarah Vance; Luke Vance; Olivia Vance; Hadley Scott; Elin Adams; Liv Adams; Isla Adams; Theodore Tackett; Fletcher Tackett; and Grayson Shrum.

Great-Great Grandchildren: Skarlet Favaro, A.J. Favaro, Isabella Dunnavant, Brookelyn Dunnavant, Gabriel Dunnavant, and Jack Dunnavant. Special Caregivers: Evelyn “Noonie” Boothe, Deana Hensley, Shirley Ferrell, Carolyn Green, and Linda Green. Funeral services for Roland A. Tackett will be conducted on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.

Interment will follow at the Tackett Family Cemetery in the Lake Park section of Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Phillip Horton officiating. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
