Mary Viola Charles, age 91, of the Belfast section of Cedar Bluff, VA passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at her home. She was born in Buchanan County, VA and was the daughter of the late Luther Britton and Molly Stilwell Meadows. She had been a seamstress for 35 years at Honaker Mills and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Mary attended the Claypool Hill Bible Church. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Charles; grandson, Jeffrey Ball; and great grandchildren, Audra Danielle Adkins and Tiffany Miranda Taylor; one brother and four sisters.

Her spirit will forever be carried on by her: Daughters: Mildred Ann Street of Bristol, VA Marcella Ball of Cedar Bluff, VA Linda Ratliff and husband, Bobby of Bedford, VA Martha Ann Boardwine and husband, Tommy of Cedar Bluff, VA Kathy Phipps and husband, Buck of Reynolds Ridge, VA Geneva McClanahan and husband, Darrell of Pounding Mill, VA Son, Waldron John Charles and wife, Teresa of Whitesburg, TN Sister, Flora Price of Oakwood, VA Brother, Carlos Meadows of Honaker, VA Also surviving are seventeen grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren, eight great great-grandchildren, along with a host of family and friends. Special Caregiver: Macella Ball Funeral services for Mary Viola Charles will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev.

Steve Tegler and Rev. Carl Tegler officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Sunday evening at the funeral home. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia is in charge of arrangements and those wishing to express sympathy online may do so at www.
