Ms. Geneva Marie Cole Altizer, age 89, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Commonwealth Memory Care facility in Cedar Bluff, Virginia. She was born in Buchanan County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Dewey W. and Margaret Cunningham Cole. Geneva was a graduate of Whitewood High School Class of 1948.

She was a lifetime resident of the area and was a retired school teacher and bus driver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Altizer; second husband, Jack Millspaugh; and a brother, Jim Cole. Those who remain to carry on her spirit are: Sons: Eugene Altizer and wife Lynna of Abingdon, VA Mike Altizer and wife, Carlene of Richlands, VA Bob Altizer and wife, Jamie of Charlotte, NC Sisters: Marguerite Elkins of Abingdon, VA Ann Cantrell of Cedar Bluff, VA Linda Frazier and husband, Gorman of Abingdon, VA Barbara Presley of Abingdon, VA Brother, Jack Cole and wife, Beverly of Belfast, VA Grandchildren, Stephen Altizer and wife, Amy; Jessica Dye and husband, Jonathan; Hunter Mark Altizer; Cole Darren Altizer and wife, Lindsay; Juliana Burton and husband, Jordon; Evan Altizer; Alaina Grace Altizer; Katie Rezantes and husband, Kahaa; Emily Concepcion and husband, Santiago.

Great grandchildren: Preston M. Dye, Caden Altizer, Logan Tanner Altizer, Tyce Burton, Malec Burton, Leunitus Rezantes, Alex Concepcion, Aalayah Concepcion, Zuri Concepcion. Funeral services for Ms. Geneva Marie Cole Altizer will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with he Rev. Troy Lester officiating.

Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be John Ray Hobbs, Charles Presley, Stephen Altizer, Logan Altizer, Jim Russ Childress and Jack Wayne Cole. Honorary pallbearer will be Mark Thomas.
