Charles L. “Lindy” Baldwin, age 89, of Richlands, VA passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Heritage Hall in Tazewell, VA. Lindy was born in Raven, VA and was the son of the late Jonas and Laura Bell Cordill Baldwin. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War.

Lindy worked at Kelsey Tire in Richlands, VA as a recapper and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a member of the Claypool Hill Bible Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy B. Baldwin; grandson, Isaiah Ray Baldwin; sisters, Donna Bell Baldwin, Ora Nell Baldwin, and Betty Joe Miller; brothers, Robert Baldwin, Lee Baldwin, and Elbert Baldwin.

He is survived by: Daughters: Patricia Reeves of Bluefield, VA Doris Uphold and husband, Lynn of Cumberland, MD Son: Billy Baldwin and wife, Althea of Richlands, VA Brothers: Donald Baldwin and wife, Patsy of Tazewell, VA Andrew Baldwin and wife, Nancy of Asheville, NC Grandchildren: Amanda Uphold, Ben Uphold, Breanna Baldwin, Draven Baldwin, Devany Baldwin Great Grandchildren: Brody White and Rowan White A host of family and friends also survive Funeral services for Charles L. “Lindy” Baldwin will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 4, 2019 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Steve Tegeler and Rev. Carl Tegeler officiating.

Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Gabe Hunsaker, Donny Dye, Ricky Dye, Draven Baldwin, Phillip Tegeler, and Breanna Baldwin. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Sunday evening at the funeral home.
