Obituary for Jeanette T. Chunka Jeanette T. Chunka, 72, of Lopatcong Township, NJ, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital-Warren Campus in Phillipsburg, NJ. Jeanette was born in New York, NY on November 13, 1945 to the late William and Stella Madyda Krachie. Jeanette was a counter waitress at Dunkin Donuts in Phillipsburg, NJ.
Previously, she had worked at Channel Hardware at the Hillcrest Mall and The Peke Inn Restaurant, both in Phillipsburg. Jeanette was also a former employee with AT&T as a Secretary. She was a graduate of Cathedral High in New York City.
Jeanette enjoyed watching BBC and PBS shows. She was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with her grandson. Jeanette was a member of St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church in Phillipsburg.
Jeanette is survived by sons, Robert M. Chunka and his wife Nancy of Las Vegas, NV and Scott Chunka and his significant other Lilrene Smith of Phillipsburg; daughter, Jessica Kost and her husband, Travis of Orefield, PA; grandson, Jakob; sisters, Prisilla Kassick and Marylin Binzi; brothers, Joseph and William Krachie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanette was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Robert J. Chunka, who passed in 2015 and a brother Paul Krachie. A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeanette will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 10am at St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church; 430 South Main Street; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.
A Visitation of Family and Friends will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm and on Thursday from 9am until 9:45am at the Rupell Funeral Home, LLC; 465 Memorial Parkway; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. Interment will be in St. Philip & St. James Catholic Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made in Jeanette’s name to the American Cancer Society; 7 Ridgedale Ave.
