Joann H. Blauvelt, 79, of Westminster, died Sunday, June 24, 2018, at her residence. Born January 9, 1939 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Cordelia (Lloyd) Hitzelberger and Sterling D. Hitzelberger. Before retiring she worked 37 years as a Group Leader at Random House.

She was also a bus driver at the ARC where she enjoyed working and talking to her clients. She was a member of St. John’s (Leister’s) Lutheran Church and Women of the Moose No. 1381, where she liked to dance.

She loved her pups Sadie Ann and Harley. She is survived by a son, John “Mike” Blauvelt Sr. and wife Christine Blauvelt of Westminster; a grandson John M. Blauvelt Jr. of Reisterstown and devoted friend Lawrence Blauvelt. She was predeceased by a brother John D. Hitzelberger.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Leister’s Church Cemetery.
