Joncie Hackett Singletary December 07, 1939 – June 27, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Joncie Hackett Singletary, of Detroit, MI, wife of Grady Singletary, passed after a brief illness. She was born along with her twin sister Jeanette, December 7, 1939 in Bradley, SC to the late Julian P. and Nezzie T. Griffin Hackett. She attended Brewer High School and was a member of Greater Ebenezer Ministries for nearly 40 years.

She served faithfully in the culinary ministry, a member of the Pastor Chorus and the chairlady for several years, employed at Greater Ebenezer Christian Child Care Center for 16 years in the Culinary Department as a cook and later as the Department Administrator. She prepared and served with love meals for countless children. She is survived by her, husband; sons: Eldred Singletary, Sr. and Kenneth Singletary (fiancee, Ms. Shayla McClary); Grand Children, Eldred, Jr., William Grady, Eric, Jared, Jessica, and Kennedi Singletary.

Her sisters: Mary (Calvin, Sr.) White, Jeanette White, Lucille (James) Blair, Mildred (Raymond, Sr.) Johnson, Marie Pope, all of Greenwood, SC; Frances Taylor, Baltimore, MD, and Helen (Rev. Paul, Sr.) Long, of Rock Hill, SC; one brother, Frank (Jackie) Hackett, of Raleigh, NC, a host of nieces, nephews, family members, spiritual daughters, spiritual sons, god- children, and the Greater Ebenezer family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children: Sharon Singletary and Rodney Singletary; two sisters, Vonzie Singletary Perrin, and Carrie N. Crawford; and three brothers, John Edward Hackett, James M. Hackett, Sr. and Stanley Jesse “Tip” Hackett.

Services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Greater Ebenezer Ministries, Detroit, MI. Courtesy of Parks Funeral Home, Greenwood, South Carolina.
