Joyce Helen Van Every Jenkins passed away at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital on April 9, 2018. A memorial service will be held at Harvey Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Eddie Braswell will officiate.

Joyce was born on September 5, 1950. She worked as a vet tech at Salter’s Veterinary Hospital for over thirty-five years. She had a great love and passion for animals.

As a wildlife rehabilitationist she nursed many wild animals back to health. She also authored a weekly newspaper article in the Dawson News entitled “Fence Row to Fireside” for a number of years. She was an avid vegetable gardener.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Helen Van Every. She is survived by her children, Michelle Jameson (Jaye) of Hopkinsville, KY, Kelly Ohm (Glenn) of Hopkinsville, KY and Peter Jerge of Doerun, GA; brother, Dale Van Every (Donaline) of Hernando, FL; fiancee, Albert Hollingsworth of Dawson, GA; grandchildren, Amber Spalding (Jordan) and Zachary Ohm; great-grandchildren, Aidan Spalding and Rylan Spalding and sister-in-law, Judy “JJ” Harrison.
