Larry Lawrence Lewis , August 01, 1950 — January 15, 2019

Larry Lawrence Lewis, 68, of Friendsville, MD, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. Born August 1, 1950, in Oakland, MD, he was the son of the late Lawrence A. and Pauline M. (McCrobie) Lewis. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marlene Wisecarver and Bonnie Doerr.

Larry worked as a supervisor for the Garrett County Roads department for forty-four years and also was a member of the Deep Creek Volunteer Fire Department for forty-five years. He was a member of the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren and enjoyed hunting and the outdoor life in his free time. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he would travel to watch them play sports, never missing a game.

He is survived by his wife, Linda L. Lewis; one son, David L. Lewis and wife, Betsy, Elkridge, MD; one daughter, Sandra D. Vincent and husband, Steve, Accident, MD; three sisters, Rosetta “Cookie” Lewis, Oakland; Fayann Saturday, Friendsville; Nancy Friend, McHenry, MD; four grandchildren, Heather Sanders and husband, Kody; Emily Vincent and companion, Ryan DeWitt; Tyler Lewis; Samantha Lewis; one great-grandson, Peyton Sanders; numerous nieces and nephews that he loved too. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be conducted at the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, 6557 Sang Run Road, McHenry, MD on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Scott Rush and Pastor Michael Saturday officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
