Obituary for Lloyd W. Nelson Lloyd W. Nelson, 87, of North Huntingdon died Sunday April 8, 2018 in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born June 15, 1930, in Arona a son of the late Arthur and Mary (Irwin) Nelson. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a furnace tender for Westmoreland Glass.
Lloyd was also a farmer as well as a Christmas tree farmer; he was an avid bowler and a lifelong Pirate Fan. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Betty Nelson and a sister Hazel Nelson. Surviving are his wife Theresa (Sofaly) Nelson; children Lloyd Nelson, of Derry, Susan Clark and her husband, Robert, of Bovard, Joseph Spezziale and his wife, Judy, of North Huntingdon, Virginia LaVella and her husband Robert, of West Newton, Michael Spezziale and his wife Rene, of North Huntingdon, Nancy Matusek and her husband, Josef, of Jeannette and Frank Spezziale, of Latrobe and several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers Miles “Sonny” Nelson and his wife Barb, of FL.
and George Nelson and his wife, Dee, of Latrobe. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ott Funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin. A blessing service will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
