Obituary for Margaret McCormack Wilson Margaret McCormack Wilson, 87, of York died October 10, 2018 at York Hospital. Born June 16, 1931 in York, she was the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Alma Mae (Wright) McCormack. Margaret married her high school sweetheart, Ray A. Wilson, MD in 1956, recently celebrating their 62nd year of marriage together.

Margaret was a 1949 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. She attended the University of Michigan and subsequently graduated from Millersville University in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She taught primary education at York Day Nursery, Grantley School and Elmwood School in York.

While her husband attended medical school she also taught in the Baltimore County Schools before returning to York to raise her family. Margaret was named to Who’s Who of America and was an Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters. She was a member of the Country Club of York as well as a lifelong member of St. John Episcopal Church in York.

She enjoyed various volunteer work efforts including membership in the Young Women’s Club of York, Junior League of York, and the York County Medical Auxiliary (Alliance). She also served on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Home of York for 17 years. Margy enjoyed traveling throughout the world and vacationing each summer, for over 75 years, in her beloved Ocean City, NJ.

She also enjoyed gardening and playing lots of bridge with her friends. She was an avid sports fan rooting for her Michigan Wolverines, Baltimore Orioles and the Tom Brady led New England Patriots. Margy especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Ray, she is survived by her 3 sons, Stephen Wilson and his wife, Susan of Monkton, Michael Wilson, MD and his wife, Sandra of York, and David Wilson, MD of York; and her 4 grandchildren, Thomas Wilson, Tristan Wilson, Renee Wilson, and Bradley Wilson. She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers, Webster J. McCormack and D. James McCormack. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Episcopal Church, 140 North Beaver Street, York, PA 17401 with The Rev.
