Obituary of Margaret Mashanic Margaret Ann Mashanic, age 83, of Corning, NY died Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Corning Center Rehabilitation. Margaret was born on October 25, 1935 in Corning to Joseph and Catherine (Golden) McIntyre. She was a graduate of Corning Free Academy (1953) and worked for the Corning Painted Post School District as a health aide and teacher’s aide for 48 years.

She married Charles Mashanic on September 7, 1957 at St. Mary’s Church and was predeceased by him on July 7, 1986. She was a member of the auxiliary of the John P. Eaton Post of the American Legion and was an avid Yankees Fan. Margaret was former Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister at All Saints Parish.

She loved spending time with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Mashanic and Theresa (Patrick) Garvey; two sisters, Barbara Graham and Rose (Ash) Cutler; grandchildren, Mark (Anaila) Garvey, Megan (Jon) McDivitt, and Eric Garvey; great grandsons, Eli and Hudson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday January 23rd from 4 until 7 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 East First Street in Corning.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday January 24th at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 155 State Street in Corning where burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Margaret’s name to All Saints Parish, 222 Dodge Avenue, Corning, NY 14830.
