There is an open gate through which each of us must go alone. ’’ Mark Lindsay Turner, son of the late Wallace Turner and Ida Bell Gillens, was born on February 14, 1961 in Harlem, New York.

He was preceded in death by his two siblings: Sam Gillens (1995) and Margie “Barbara” Gillens (1996). He received his formal education in the New York City public schools. Mark was a very strong hard worker and determined man.

He worked hard to overcome the street life of New York City, and he made it. He took pride in providing for his son. On Sunday, March 10th, 2019, God called Mark Lindsay Turner and he answered at the Presbyterian Hospital.

His life will be lovingly remembered by: his son, Mark Turner, Jr. (NYC) and his beloved lifelong friend, Beulah (NYC); Aunt Bertha Bell (Bronx); three nephews, Tarik Dickens (Maryland), Nicholas and Robert (NJ); three nieces, Tanisha, Nakisha (NJ) and Christina (NJ); and a host of other family members and friends.
