Marvin Stephen Bowman, 61, of Mt. Lake Park, MD, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. Born August 17, 1957, in Oakland, MD, he was the son of the late Samuel and Ethel (Nelson) Bowman.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert Bowman. Marvin worked as a laborer for the Laborer’s Union 616. He enjoyed taking scenic trips, fishing, hunting, and the outdoors.

He especially loved his grandchildren. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Oakland. He is survived by his wife, Alysia Bowman; four sons, Marvin Lucas Bowman, Grantsville, MD; Michael Allen Corby and wife, Chantee, Oakland; Johnny Lee Corby, Oakland; William Edwin Janoske, Oakland; three daughters, Monica Marie Bowman, Grantsville; Billie Jo Corby, Swanton, MD; Jennifer Kay Smith and husband, Donald Noel, Cranesville, WV; one brother, Philbert Bowman, Swanton; sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

At Marvin’s request, he will be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9th, 2019, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 325 Weber Rd. in Oakland, at 2:00 p.m. with Elder Thaddeus Welsh officiating.
