Obituary for Mary Short Mary E. Short October 25, 1946 – April 9, 2018 Mary Estella Short (VanNatter), 71, passed away peacefully at her home in Wenatchee, Washington, on the evening of April 9th, 2018. Mary was born at Deaconess Hospital in Wenatchee, Washington, on October 25, 1946, to John and El-Louise (VanNatter). Mary was raised in Everett, Washington and was a graduate of Cascade High School in 1965.

Mary was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family. She loved spending time with children through fostering and daycare.

Everyone that came through her door was now one of her own and changed forever in a positive and enduring way. She married Douglas A. Short on March 19, 1966, and together they raised five children. During their life together they lived in Everett, Granite Falls and then moved to Wenatchee, Washington in 1992 to finish raising their family.

She is survived by her husband Douglas, her children; Tracy, Tina (Manny), John (Leilani), Sharon and Charles. Her grandchildren; Christopher, David, Brian, Ellie, Luke, Brittney, Lexi, Brittany and Kalina, Great-granddaughter, Vivian, her sister, Carla Johnson (Jerry) as well as a large extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews, adopted family, Mike and Melissa Grimm and their three children, Andrew, Brandon and Courtney. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made in Mary’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association Washington Chapter act.
