Nancy Hawker Mills, 78, of Danville, Va. , passed from this life into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 23, 1940, in Keeling, Va.

to the late Viola Puckett Hawker and the late Linwood Hawker. She is survived by her husband, Jonathan Eldridge Mills, Sr Mrs. Mills retired from Caraustar.

She was Vice Queen of the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Mills loved reading and scrapbooking, as well as camping and nature. … Read More » She loved her dog, Gabe.

Mrs. Mills loved her church; she was a member of North Main Baptist. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mills is survived by her sons, Jonathan “Johnny” Mills, Jr., and his wife, Jill of Danville, and Michael “Mike” Mills, and his wife, Amanda of Lynchburg; and grandchildren, Taylor Mills and Landen Mays. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mills has been reunited in heaven with her grandson, Jacob Mills.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel with Pastor Ryan Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park.

The family will receive friends from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, at the funeral home prior to the service, and at other times at the residence. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. & Crematory, Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Tpke.
