Jean Stuart Critz Morris, 94, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2018. She was born in Danville, VA on March 20, 1924 to the late Abram and Sally Critz. Mrs. Morris is survived by her husband of 70 years, George E. Morris, Jr.; a daughter, Anne Stewart Morris of Lynchburg, VA; a son, George E. Morris III and wife Elaine of High Point, NC; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Stewart Weldon Morris of Charlotte, NC; a grandson, George Hunter Morris and his wife Ashley of Charlotte,… Read More » NC; nephews, Daniel K. Critz, Benjamin M. Townes; nieces, Elizabeth C. Townes, Margaret C. Townes, and Sally Critz Craig.

Jean grew up in Danville, VA where she attended and graduated from Averett College. Jean was a member of the Charity League of Martinsville, Martinsville Garden Study Club of Virginia, Wednesday Book Club, and most importantly, she was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church for 60 years and was involved in various and numerous committees and activities. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Christ Episcopal Church with Father Nick Hull officicating, after a private family ceremony at the church columbarium.
