Mr. R E “Smutty” Durden, Jr., 62, of Aline passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Memorial Health in Savannah following a brief illness. Mr. Durden was born August 14, 1955 in Reidsville, Ga. to the late R E Durden, Sr. and Oletta Kersey Durden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry Wilds, and Aubrey Wilds; sisters, Sherry Durden and Virginia Gail Williams. Mr. Durden enjoyed fishing, cooking, music, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his daughter, Julie Durden of Collins; brother, William Collin (Sherri) of Vidalia; sister, Neva Akridge (Ralph) of Swainsboro; 2 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
