Obituary for Rachel Abernathy (Albert) Rachel C. Abernathy, 80, of Patterson, MO, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2018 from Bone Cancer. She was born to Steve and Minnie Albert on October 10, 1937 in Tenakee Springs, AK. She was an Alaska native from the Tlingit Tribe-Eagle Clan.

She married Bob Abernathy on June 27, 1972 in Ketchikan, AK. She had worked as a clerk and was an avid hunter and fisherman. She is survived by her husband Bob Abernathy of Patterson, MO; son, Kevin Carroll and wife Tammy of Piedmont, MO, along with their children: Anntionette, Kurtis, Nathan, Tyrone and Tabitha; daughter, Monica Carroll of Ketchikan, AK, along with her daughters, Melissa Carroll and Candace Nolan; great grandchildren, Melanah, Kobe and Kyle McComb; brother, Jerry Albert of Metlakatla, AK; sister, Joan Vest of Ketchikan, AK; several nieces and nephews; and Amelia McAlpin lifelong friend.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers: Steve Albert II and Steve Albert III; sisters: Patty Williams and Vivian Friberg. She had attended Catholic School in Skagway, AK and was of the Catholic faith. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at 11:00 am, at Meador-Flatwoods Cemetery near Piedmont.
