Obituary for Robert A Sickels Robert A. Sickels, Sr., 90, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at HCR ManorCare of Palmer Township, PA. Robert was born in Phillipsburg on March 3, 1928 to the late Stewart and Mary Fisher Sickels. Robert was a Fuel Delivery Driver with Walters Oil Company of Easton, PA for 20 years, retiring in 1993.

He served his country as a Sargent in the US Army from 1945-1947. Robert was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg. He was also a member of John Dolak American Legion Post #446 of Alpha, NJ and served as Troop Leader for Boy Scout & Cub Scout Troop #56.

Robert is survived by sons, Robert Sickels and his wife, Shirley of Bloomsbury, NJ, Doug Sickels and his wife, Alison of Nazareth, PA, and Stewart Sickels and his wife, Fran of Emmaus, PA; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria Smith of Easton, PA. Robert was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth M. Snyder Sickels; daughters, Pam Sickels, Christine Evans, and Susan Sickels; brother, Bill Sickels; and a sister; Virginia Maynard. A Funeral Service for Robert will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11am at the Rupell Funeral Home, LLC; 465 Memorial Parkway; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.

A Visitation of Family and Friends will be held from 10am until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery; Phillipsburg, NJ. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made in Robert’s name to Huntington Fire Company; 1 Maple Ave; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.
