Obituary for Mr. Robert Bruce Raver Robert Bruce Raver, 76, husband of Phyllis Raver, of Salem, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at GHS Cottingham Hospice House. He only lived seven weeks after being diagnosed with bile duct cancer. After a career as an Engineer at Ford Motor Company he retired in 2003 to Keowee Key.

He called this “The greatest place on earth”. He enjoyed his life passion of golfing, fishing, gardening, boating, bowling, pickleball and many other competitive sports; as well as raising four children and being a loving husband to his wife Phyllis, of 31 years. He was a member of the KKMGA and the Key Rollers Bowling League.

He also enjoyed walking his best friend, Brandy on the leisure trail every day. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was proud of his time served aboard submarines. He will be missed by many relatives and friends.

Robert is survived by his wife, Phyllis and his children: Edward Scott Raver, Elizabeth Anne Forman, Monica Ann Pauzus (Benjamin) and Alison Marie Forrest (William); seven grandchildren: Summer, Ryan, Madelyn, Alison, Liam, Luke and Emma; brother: Charles Henry Raver; sister: Cynthia Olson Ward as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Memorials may be sent to, FoothillsYMCA.net, for Swimming Education in Robert’s name or to the Oconee Hospice of the Foothills, GHS Cottingham Hospice House, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672. A celebration of his life will be held at 5:00 PM, Saturday, November 10, 2017, at the Keowee Key Event Center.
