Robert’s Obituary Robert B. Schirmer “Poppy”, formerly of Montgomeryville, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital Bethlehem. Born in Montgomeryville, PA. He was a son of the late Arcon and Evelyn (Wright) Schirmer.

Mr. Schirmer was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served his country during the Korean conflict. He was employed as a Delivery Driver for Suburban Propane. Mr. Schirmer enjoyed trips to the casino and was known for constantly being on the go and he loved being outside.

Robert enjoyed time with his family and his routine trips to visit them. Robert was also a well-known handy man who took great delight in building many things including his own house, porches and Donkey carts. Robert also enjoyed coaching Girls softball teams.

He is survived by his Long-time companion Evelyn Bryan, his former wife Loretta Schirmer; Son, Allen Schirmer and his wife Catherine of Trappe, Daughters; Deborah Schirmer of Souderton and Diane Detweiler and her husband Willard of Perkasie PA. Grandchildren; Cristen, Nathan, Robin, Krista, Jodi and Brandon. Great-grandchildren; Jonathan, Jeffrey, Joseph, Jenna, Savannah and Aiden.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 11 AM in the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, 33 North Main St. Telford, PA 18969. Interment will follow at Leidy’s Cemetery Souderton. Family will receive friends from 10-11:00 prior to the service.
