Obituary for Robert E. Young Robert E. Young, 84, of St. Albans went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston. He was born in Charleston to the late Thomas and Mabel Layne Young. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Liz Comer.

Bob was retired from Columbia Gas Company, Charleston. He was a member of Humphreys Memorial United Methodist Church, Tornado. He graduated from Dunbar High School and was a graduate of Morris Harvey College now University of Charleston.

He served in the U S Navy during the Korean War. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Jo Young; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Fleming (Ronald) of St. Albans; sister, Kathern Hill (Dale) of Scott Depot. Also surviving are Bob’s grand dogs, Ginger and Sugar; nieces, Joy Mitchell and Pam Hill and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans with Rev. Richie McNiel and Rev. Sam Roberts officiating.

Burial will be in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veteran Cemetery, Dunbar. Friends may call from 10 to 12:00 pm prior to the funeral service.
