Robert’s Obituary PETERSTOWN, WV – Robert M. Elswick, Jr., age 92, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV. Born November 9, 1926, in the Maiden Springs District of Virginia, he was the son of the late Robert M. Elswick, Sr. and Mary M. Watson Elswick. Robert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corp. Veteran. Additionally, he worked as a Chief Electrician for the Pittston Coal Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Virginia Elswick; one son, Robert M. “Buster” Elswick; and one daughter, Diane Short. Survivors include one son, Kimmy Elswick of Peterstown, WV; grandchildren, Robbie, Junior, and Stephanie; half-sister, Betty Sue Hill; and nieces and nephews, Keith, Carolyn, Ricky, and Tammy. Graveside services with military rites will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 28, 2019, at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Cedar Bluff, VA.
