Robert “Robby” Lee Messenger Jr., 66, of Highland Bridge Rd. Clarksburg passed away at 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg. He was born in Clarksburg on October 6, 1951 a son of Robert Lee Messenger Sr. (wife Ruth Ann) of Clarksburg, and the late Janice Mae Rawleigh Messenger.

On July 8, 1978 he married Tammy Gay Call who will miss him dearly after 39 years of marriage. He is also survived by one son, Robert “Robby” Lynn Messenger of Clarksburg; two grandchildren: Alexander Messenger, and Tamera Messenger, both of Clarksburg; stepmother, JoAnn Phillips of Martinsburg; four sisters: Donna Peasley and husband, Bobby, of Cambridge, MD, Mary Jo Burdette and husband, Johnny, of Martinsburg, Linda Ray Ramos and husband, Michael, of North Beach, MD, and Carol A. Williams and husband, Harry, of Silver Springs, MD; and several nieces and nephews. Robby was an honored veteran of the United States Army having served during Vietnam.

He worked as an auto body repairman, then as a housekeeper for the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg. He enjoyed shooting pool with friends, and fishing with his grandson, Alex, who was his pride and joy. Robby’s request for cremation has been honored and his family will have a private Celebration of Life Service at a later date.
