Roger Lee Pack, Sr. November 26, 1947 – January 31, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Roger Lee Pack, Sr., 71, of Augusta, WV passed away on January 31, 2019 after an extended illness. Born November 26, 1947 in Helen, WV, he is survived by his wife, Geri (Dudley) Pack, son, Roger Lee Pack, Jr. (Sherry). The middle child of 9 children, he is also survived by two brothers, Larry Pack and Bob (Lana) Pack and two sisters, Clara “Sue” Payne and Deloris Ruble, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Pack and mother, Tokie Marie Pack, as well as two brothers, George Pack and Ray Pack and two sisters, Vicky Duncan and Vena Baxter. Roger graduated from Wayne High School in Wayne, WV in June, 1965 and was employed by United McGill Corporation in Columbus, OH, from which he retired 42 years later in 2007 as plant superintendent. He married his beloved Geri in 1966 and resided in Columbus during his working career.

Roger enlisted in the US Air Force in November, 1966 and served 4 years at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, TX and was honorably discharged in November, 1970, upon which he rejoined his employment at United McGill Corp. His greatest joys were family, friends, traveling, hunting, fishing, 4 wheel excursions, retiring to their hilltop in Augusta, WV for 11 years and 6 of those 11 years, wintering in Murrells Inlet, SC. He was a loving husband and father, a loyal friend and a hard worker.

Roger was baptized at and joined, along with Geri, The Delray Christian Church in May, 2017. Other memberships included Romney Moose, Capon Bridge American Legion, Winchester Elks and Eagles, NAUS Columbus, OH, and NRA. If you met Roger, you never knew a better family man or more loyal friend.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the McKee Funeral Home Chapel with Eric Bridges, Minister at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Roger’s honor to The American Cancer Society or Hospice Promise Foundation, c/o Grant Memorial Hospice, 100 Hospital Dr., Suite 2, Petersburg, WV 26847. All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV.
