Obituary for Ronald Edwin Shamblin Ronald Edwin Shamblin, 77, of Abingdon, VA, passed away at Mountain Home Community Living Center at Mountain Home, TN, on Monday, April 16, 2018. He was born May 17, 1940, in Richlands, VA and was the son of Virginia Ruth McGlothlin Shamblin of Abingdon, VA and the late Robert Wilson Shamblin. Ron was a 1958 graduate of Richlands High School.

He received a Master’s Degree from Saint Leo University. A 33-year veteran of the United States Army and Virginia National Guard, he retired as chief warrant officer in 2000. From 2000 to 2010, he was a federal employee for the United States Army.

He attended Pleasant View United Methodist Church in Abingdon, VA. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Terry Shamblin, maternal grandparents L. F. (Rans) and Laura McGlothlin, paternal grandparents Lloyd and Rosa Shamblin, and brother-in-law Don F. Lowe. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter Ronda Smith of Amarillo, TX; three grandchildren, Kent Tutor and wife April of Lubbock, TX, Erica Tutor of Amarillo, TX, and Rachel Tutor of Amarillo, TX; four great grandchildren, Kaelyn, Ashlyn, and Helyn Tutor and Adalyn Marlin; sister Gail S. Lowe of Abingdon, VA; brother Robert Harold Shamblin and wife Ellen of Cedar Bluff, VA; nephew Michael F. Lowe; and nieces Donna Gooding, Sarah Ballenberger, Karen Bernard, Tammy Cochran, Stephanie Sherman, and Bobbi Johnston.
