Ronnie Compton, 71, of Gaithersburg, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 5, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Shelby Compton and his brother, Ray Compton. Born in Kentucky, he was the son of the late Rudolf and Velvet Compton.

Ronnie was a veteran of the Vietnam War, 1st Infantry Division. He enjoyed fishing, movies, and playing and laughing with his grandchildren. He was able to fix anything and was always there for you when you needed him.

He is survived by his four daughters: Rhonda Forney and husband Kyle of Montgomery Village, Cindy Silva and husband Tony of Potomac Falls, Kimberly Bishop and husband Todd of Frederick, and Angela Ricketts and husband Mike of Westminster; eight grandchildren: Kaitlyn Forney and Riley Forney, Isabella Silva and Brynn Silva, Zara Usman and Tiffany Bishop, and Lena Ricketts and Aubrey Ricketts; siblings Rudy Compton, Rosemary Helsel, Rita Hamilton, and Ricky Compton; and many nieces and nephews. The family invites you to join them for a luncheon in remembrance of Ronnie on Friday, September 7th at 1:00 pm in Frederick, MD 21703. Contact the family for details.
