Roy A. Sly Jr., 82, of Beloit, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2019 in his home. He was born April 5, 1936 the son of Roy Sly and Sarah Onstine Huss. Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Roy was employed at several places including Rockton Township Highway Department and Landstar Express. He enjoyed family get-togethers, Roy Roger movies, Westerns, and the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders. Roy participated in the Relay for Life and Sr. Saints at Hope Church in Roscoe, IL.

He leaves behind a large family including his sons, Lonnie (Lorie) Sly and Gerald Sly; daughter, Shelie Sly; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Marylou Shaw, Paula (Tom) Peterson and Doris Couture; brother, John Sly; and his cat, Skittles. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Donna, son Roy Sly III, brother Charles Sly, granddaughter Jessica, great grandsons Carl and Nathaniel. A celebration of life for Roy will be at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the South Beloit Businessman’s Hall, 525 Washington St., South Beloit, IL.
