Ruth E. Wright, age 97, of Bluff City, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from the Cornerstone Village in Johnson City. Ruth was born in Piney Flats, Tennessee to the late Ray Lyle Peters and Jennie Cleo Oliver Peters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James Marvin Wright; her brothers, Herman Peters, Argi Peters and J.D. Peters; and her sisters, Nellie Sells, Trula Harvey and Mildred Peters.

Ruth was a homemaker and seamstress of the highest caliber. She was a 67 year member of Windsor Avenue Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the church Women’s Group. She was a loving wife, mother and mamaw.

She enjoyed going fishing with her husband. Those left to cherish her wonderful memories include her children, Sandra Ivey and husband Lee, of Pine Knoll Shores, NC, Warren James “Jim” Wright and wife Lisa, of Kingsport, TN and Harold B. “Nick” Wright and wife Judy, of Bluff City; six grandchildren, Taylor Meo, Carly Wright, Josh Wright, Mark Wright, Matt Hagen and Jeff Hagen; and three great grandchildren, Jadon Meo, Bohdan Meo and Gracie Faith Wright. A service to honor and celebrate the life of Ruth E. Wright will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 21, 2019 in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City with Rev.

Jamie Ferguson and Rev. Rusty Verran, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the chapel, prior to the service on Thursday.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 22, 2019 in the Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol, Tennessee. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Friday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to the Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 1727 Chinquapin Grove Road, Bluff City, TN 37618.
