Koenig, 70, of Perryville, died on December 31, 2018 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born January 5, 1948 in Steelville, IL daughter of Harold and Edith (Lehmberg) Alms. She and Dale D. Koenig were married on June 14, 1969.

He survives in Perryville, MO. She had been an administrative assistant at Perry County Health Department. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she served on the P.R. Board, Spirit Within and Banner Committees, and she served on the Friedenberg Historical Society Board for 38 years.

Survivors include one son, Joseph Koenig of Frohna; one daughter, Deac. Jessica (Rev. Michael) Feldmann of Salem, IL; one son-in-law, Michael Hornberger of Perryville, MO; one brother and two sisters, Marilyn (Rev.

Donald) Sandmann of Fort Wayne, IN; Roberta (Ryan) Rutherford of Thornfield, MO; Rev. Maurice (Linda) Alms of Troy, IL; and seven grandchildren, Madison Hornberger, Britney Koenig, Dalton Hornberger, Joseph Koenig, Alleena Koenig, Faith Feldmann and Heath Feldmann. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Heather Hornberger; three sisters, Vivian Earlenbaugh, Eunice Alms, Loretta Schuette and two brothers, Donald Alms and Royce Alms.

Visitation will be held at Young & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday, January 6 from 4:00 to 9:00 pm and on Monday, January 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 am. She will then be taken to Immanuel Lutheran Church for services at 10:00 am with Rev. Matthew Marks officiating.

Burial in the Church Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Trinity Lutheran School in Centralia, IL and Friedenberg Historical Society in Perryville, MO. Young & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Perryville, MO provided the arrangements.
