Sandra V. “Santa” (Polizzia) Parisi, 92, wife of the late William S. Parisi of Gloucester, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Gloucester, MA on July 3, 1925, daughter of the late John and Anna Maria (Frontiero) Polizzia. She attended Gloucester High School.
She worked at many of the various fish processing plants in Gloucester at different times of her life. Her greatest joy was her time being home with her husband children and grandchildren. Following her retirement, she was very involved in the family business, Trupiano’s, which brought her much happiness to be working side by side with her family.
She was a great cook and an even a better baker. Santa loved going to the Senior Center to play bingo and travelling to Foxwoods. She was an active parishioner at Holy Family Church.
She was a member of the Mother of Grace Club, the Madonna Del Rosario Society and the Seafarer’s International Union. Santa will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Grace Marie Ciaramitaro and her husband Mercurio “Mike” of Gloucester; two sons, Philip Parisi and his partner Kim McAtee of Colorado, William Parisi Jr. and his wife Judi of Rowley; six grandchildren, Cristina Marie Ciaramitaro, Michael Ciaramitaro and his wife Lucia, William Parisi III, Michele Parisi, John Parisi and Haley Parisi; four great-grandchildren, Chase Tetreault, Nico Ciaramitaro and Valentina and Giuliana Ciaramitaro; her sister, Laura Orlando of Gloucester; three brothers, Joseph Polizzia and his partner Marie Linquata , Paul Polizzia and his wife Donna and John Polizzia all of Gloucester; and daughter-in-law, Eileen Parisi of Maine.
She was predeceased by her son, John Parisi; her sisters, Rosalie Polizzia and Virginia Frontiero, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Anthony Frontiero, Frank Orlando, Lucy & Joseph Loiacano, Rose & Paul DiMaria, Frances & Joseph Kyrouz, Larry & Jackie Parisi, Joseph & Nancy Parisi, Anthony and Connie Parisi, Lily & Joseph Puma, Rose Puma, Joyce Polizzia and her loving canine companion Sandy. Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass celebrated in St. Ann’s Church, Holy Family Parish at 9:30a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
