Linda M. (Kyrouz) Burns, beloved wife of Robert J. Burns, passed peacefully on June 15, 2018, surrounded by love. Linda was born in Gloucester, September 24, 1951, to the late George A. and Priscilla (Tarr) Kyrouz. After graduating Gloucester High School in 1969, she married her class sweetheart, Bob, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.

Her journey through this life included a variety of jobs, culminating in 2015 with her retirement as Special Education Secretary for Gloucester Public Schools. Linda’s passion in life was nurturing and caring for others. Spending time with family, especially her three grandchildren, was her greatest joy.

Whether it was a Summer Vacation in Centre Harbor, NH, or a simple backyard barbeque on the Fourth of July, Linda always assumed the role of activities director, ensuring everyone had a great time with plenty to eat and drink. Other very special times would include well planned trips to Disney World, and short, spur of the moment getaways to any building containing a slot machine. Especially Foxwoods.

Her outer beauty was surpassed only by the inner beauty, compassion and love she shared with everyone she met, and will be among the things that will be missed the most by those who knew her best. In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by her daughter Kimberly Ann Fair, wife of Kevin Fair of Georgetown; son Robert A. (Randy) Burns and his fiancé Debbie Vanhbouaravong of Gloucester; two precious granddaughters, Olivia Lyn Fair and Ava Marie Fair and a very special grandson, Brody Michael Fair, all of Georgetown. She also leaves three sisters, Carole A. Mineo of Carlisle, PA, Faye E. Carmiciano, Jane C. Muise and her husband Donald, and brother-in-law Arne Hautala, all of Gloucester, and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Linda was predeceased by brothers-in-law Nick Mineo, Sam Carmiciano and sister-in-law Marianne Hautala. There are no visiting hours. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend her Memorial Mass which will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect St. Gloucester on Wednesday, June 20 at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to: American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701 or to Melmark New England, 461 River Road, Andover, MA 01801. Arrangements are by the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester.
